Ghent by night The Castle of the Counts

Ghent is a vibrant city with an extensive historical center and an abundant architectural and cultural patrimony. It is located at the confluence of two rivers in the northern part of Belgium. Ghent University is one of the largest universities in the country and is spread over several sites and campuses in and around the city.


The conference will take place at the faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Tweekerkenstraat 2, 9000 Gent.

Accommodation

The conference venue is located slightly outside the touristic city center, about 25-30 min. on foot from some of the main hotels. You can also come by bus or tram. Bus 5a/5b will take you to the closest stop (Blandijnberg).



Travel

Ghent by night

Ghent is conveniently located and easily accessible by various means.


By plane

Brussels Airport is only a short while from Ghent. By train it is max. 1.5 hours. By car it is about an hour travel via the E40 highway.


By train

From Brussels Airport, either take a direct train to Ghent (station Ghent St Pieters), or take a train to the city of Brussels and change trains there. Train services between the city of Brussels and Ghent are regular (it takes slightly over half an hour).


There are several high-speed train services (e.g. Eurostar) to Brussels from Paris, Köln, Amsterdam and London.


From the station Ghent St Pieters (Gent-Sint-Pieters) in Ghent, you can take a taxi (parking is underground), or trams T1 or T3 to the city center. Public transport schedules in Ghent can be found on the website of De Lijn.


By car

From Brussels Airport, first take the Brussels ring road (R0) in the direction of Ghent, then get on the E40 highway.


From Brussels, take the E40 highway to Ghent, then, approaching Ghent, turn on the E17 highway (direction Antwerp) and take the exit "Gent-Centrum".


From Antwerp, get on the E17 highway to Ghent and, when approaching Ghent, take the exit "Gent-Centrum".


From the "Gent-Centrum" exit on the highway, follow the parking signage to any of the underground parking garages nearest to the venue and many hotels: "Parking P7 Sint-Michiels", "Parking P8 Ramen" or "Parking P1 Vrijdagmarkt".
